Moms are amazing. They sacrifice everything for their children—including their bodies, some would say, for more than nine months. They truly are everday heroes.
This weekend, we’re celebrating mothers all over the world, and recently, we asked two U.S. Olympians to share who their heroes are. Here’s what they had to say.
“My hero’s my mom. She raised me and my brothers and she’s the most generous, sweetest person. And she’s super supportive. She’s come to as many of my competitions as she could and worked an extra job on the ski resort to get us free ski passes. She’s my rock.”

“The person who inspires me the most is my mother. My mother has been through so much just trying to raise our family and trying to make sure my dad and all of us have everything we need. She’s been a strong, consistent factor in my life forever. Even when things happen in bobsled I can call her up. She might not know all the details, but she understands sports well enough that I can talk to her about anything.”
