Try This Thanksgiving Practice with Your Kids All Year Long

Teach your kids to foster gratitude year-round with this practice from a mindfulness expert.

Michelle Gale isn’t just a mindful parenting educator—she’s also a mindful parent. The author of “Mindful Parenting in a Messy World” and mom of two recently shared a Thanksgiving practice she and her family do throughout the year that could be a great tradition for your family.

“Here’s an idea that you might want to consider for Thanksgiving and throughout the year: Our family has a gratitude jar on the kitchen counter with some little pieces of paper and pens in a bowl right next to it. We often stop during the day to write a few things down we appreciate about each other or our lives. Perhaps open up the jar on Thanksgiving morning and read through the notes together.”
