It may only be the start of spring, but summer bodies are made now! It’s time to push our bodies and fitness beyond our current state by boosting our energy.

If you want to be the leader of your life, then you must bring the energy every day to reach your goals and greatness. Here are my top three supercharged essential energy strategies to help you bring the daily inspiration needed to increase the consistency and intensity of your fitness routine and improve your productivity.

  1. Improve Your Sleep Quality

How are you sleeping?

If we are going to push our bodies to the next level, then we must generate more energy. Getting poor sleep can definitely make you feel exhausted the next day. I relate to this challenge because I was sleep-deprived for the first year after having my son Kingston.

While you sleep, your body is restoring and repairing the day’s damage. I recommend trying to squeeze in at least 50 to 60 more minutes of sleep per night, which is the easiest thing to do for more energy in the morning.

If you’re having trouble sleeping, then below you will find my list of natural sleep remedies that just might be your saving grace. Here are my favorite tips:

  • Eliminate caffeine after 3 p.m.
  • Meditate before heading to bed or while lying in bed using your favorite mediation app.
  • Take an Epsom salt bath or a hot shower combined with deep breathing to relax muscles and ease your mind.
  • Take a magnesium supplement, which promotes calmness and relieves muscle pain.
  • Breathe in essential oils such as lavender or frankincense, or put a drop on your wrists.
  • Turn off all electronics one hour before bedtime, read a good book and sleep with your phone outside the room to avoid electromagnetic fields and blue-light disruption.
  • Try an all-natural sleep spray.

  1. Take Adaptogenic Herbs

If you’re feeling exhausted, then adaptogenic herbs can help. There are moments in life when you are pushed to the edge with stress or frustration. These moments can be calmed by adaptogens. Adaptogens protect against the negative effects of stress, balance and normalize the body’s systems, energizes cells to support faster post-exercise recovery, and support clarity and focus. Adaptogens establish a foundation of homeostasis in the body.

Homeostasis means a balanced state: any process by which biological systems tend to maintain stability while adjusting to conditions that are optimal for survival.

I get my daily dose of adaptogens to keep my hormones balanced and stay focused by drinking an adaptogenic herb tea mixed with ashwagandha, holy basil and ginseng. It’s a potent daily energizer, which primes the body, protects against stress and helps with concentration.

I typically drink my tea during the “witching hour,” that 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. window of time when my daily energy tends to take a dip. You can find adaptogenic herbs at your local organic food store or online. I buy them in liquid form and mix them with hot water.

  1. Combine B Vitamins and Green Tea

Boost your energy before your workouts by drinking my almond matcha Latte recipe below to get the most out of your workout and break through any fatigue. Also, take a daily B vitamin, most likely in the form of your daily multivitamin with your latte to help supercharge energy. Personally, I find the B vitamin and green-tea combo gives me awesome feel-good energy and is part of my morning routine.

B Vitamins

Also known as the “energy vitamin,” B12 is one of the best vitamins to increase energy. If you have lower energy levels, then you may be vitamin B deficient. To combat deficiency, take a multivitamin that contains your daily dose of vitamin B12.

Green Tea

Green Tea is another option rather than coffee when you need a pick-me-up. Sipping on an herbal tea can provide an all-natural energy boost. You feel energized without feeling jittery or having the hardcore crash aftereffect.

My favorite green tea is matcha, and I make my morning latte with almond milk.
