Five Moves or Fewer: Try this Author and Lifestyle Coach’s Workout

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been sharing short, total-body workouts from fitness influencers that you can use at the gym, at home or on the road to get a sweat on. These short workouts are proof that your workouts don’t have to be 60 minutes long to make a difference. You can work up a great sweat with a simple, total-body workout that challenges all your muscles and shapes your body.

Kael Roberts (@the_kael_kollective) is many things: massage therapist, social media influencer, lifestyle coach and most recently, author of her first book, “The Power of One Positive Thought.” We asked the San Diego, Calif., resident to share a total-body workout using five moves or fewer.

What are you currently obsessed with? I am currently obsessed with trying to improve my mile time. As a former sprinter, I never really liked running long distance. In the past month, my mile time has improved by more than five minutes in the last five weeks, and my stamina is getting so much better. I am hungry to keep going. My goal is to complete five miles without stopping by June.

What do you do to keep yourself motivated and interested in health and fitness? Some days it’s really hard to just get up and go to the gym, but I remember how much of a motivation and inspiration I have been for others, and if I let myself down then I am potentially letting down everyone who looks to me for their own inspiration and motivation. Then I’ll scroll through Instagram and either look at my own personal fitspo athletes or look back on some of my own pics that motivate me.

What is your go-to energy song? Gorgon City’s “Grooves on the Vinyl.” It’s literally my groove on the treadmill.
