A Day in the Life of Gabrielle Bernstein, America’s Mindset and Miracles Expert

Named “a next-generation thought leader” by Oprah Winfrey and “a new role model” by The New York Times, Gabrielle Bernstein is the bestselling author of Miracles Now, and May Cause Miracles, as well as Spirit Junkie: A Radical Road to Self-Love and Miracles, and Add More ~ing To Your Life: A Hip Guide to Happiness.

Bernstein is not shy about sharing her struggles with addiction to things like work, people and sugar, and her approach to spirituality is to forgive, meditate, and let go of fear. It’s no wonder she’s followed by millions, and she took the time to tell us what a day in her life is like.

24Life: What’s in your 24? Describe a typical day in your life.

Gabrielle Bernstein (GB): I wake up and say this prayer from A Course in Miracles: “Where would you have me go? What would you have me do? What would you have me say? And to whom?”

Then I make juice and a cup of coffee. I’m back on coffee. (I had to have one vice!)

I typically write during the day when I’m home. I’m always working on a new book. I’ve written a book a year for the past five years … it’s never-ending!

If I’m on the road I’m typically preparing for my next talk.

I move every day! I will either get on my trampoline for at least 15 minutes, swim, walk or take a SoulCycle class. I also practice Kundalini yoga.

I meditate at least once a day. I aim for twice.

I cook most of my meals. I really try to make preparing a meal a meditative part of my day.

Then before bed I often read a spiritual text or a self-help book. I no longer read or watch negative content before I go to bed.

24Life: Where do you find inspiration for new ideas to share?

GB: Life. Every day brings me new stories and experiences to share in my books and talks.

24Life: As a speaker/author/coach and mentor to so many, how do you achieve work/life balance?

GB: I eat right, think right, sleep right, breathe right and move right. If I can cover those bases then I feel in balance.

24Life: If you only have 24 minutes to exercise today, what do you do?

GB: The rebounder!

24Life: What are you most passionate about?

GB: I’m most passionate about people who are willing to change.

24Life: What are you reading at the moment?

GB: The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates.

24Life: What do you do to relax or regenerate?

GB: Lie on my BioMat and meditate.

24Life: What’s next on your bucket list?

GB: I’m not sure. I’ve never had a bucket list. I really enjoy my life the way it is today and I welcome whatever is coming.

24Life: Do you have any advice for the world in one sentence, or a quote that’s inspired you most?

GB: Your happiness is a choice you make.

24Life: Is there a particular meditation you would like to share with our readers?

GB: You have a minute to spare, right? One minute a day spent in stillness can change your life. Commit to one minute a day and use this practice, The One-Minute Breath, to silence your mind and calm your energy.

For one minute follow this breathing technique:

Breathe in for 5 seconds
